This course is the second phase (year 6) of General Surgery which emphasize on the clinical skills acquired by history taking, physical examination to get the competency in understanding of the disease and management of the patient. Furthermore, good communication skills and ethics in patient care is inevitable which will be emphasized and implemented during the clinical posting. The teaching and learning process takes place during postings in ward rounds, operating theatre, clinic, student seminars, inter department conferences and on-call duties. Teaching methods also include bedside teaching through demonstration by the teachers and case presentation by students. The end of posting assessment consists of continuous assessment (attendance, attitude, seminar presentation, case presentation, log book, case reports), and summative assessment (Multiple Choice Question, Patient Management Problems and Clinical Examination).
