SEMESTER II 2015/2016

This course is offered to students as an intermediate course to develop students’ Arabic Language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing. The objectives of the course will be achieved through the skills integration approach and strategies that help students to reach university level fluency.

الأهداف الرئيسية للمادة:

1. تعريف الطلبة على اللغة العربية الاجتماعية في مجالات: الجزيرة العربية: نظام الحكم والتنوع الجغرافي، والشعب العربي والمسرحية، والحسن الضيافة، وتقاليد ومراسم الزواج في الدول العربية، استقبال شهر رمضان في الوطن العربي، الأمثال العربية ومعانيها.

2.  تعريف الطلبة على اللغة العربية الصحية: أقسام المشفى العام والتخصصات الطبية، والأمراض المعدية وطرق الوقاية منها، والوقاية من الأمراض في العصر الحديث، والمحافظة على الصحة، والنظام الغذائي الصحِّي للإنسان، والتداوي بالأعشاب.


This course trains students to comprehend, apply and demonstrate social skills, ethics, professionalism as well as communication skills underlying Hadith. This course focuses on students’ demonstration of Hadith appreciation as essential integral factor for critical thinking applicable in problem solving. It also focuses on demonstrating students’ readiness for professionalism; communication skills and managerial skills underlying Hadith. 

This course is executed by integrating Naqli-Aqli elements with reference to the following 4 models:

Mustawa (M1) - Al-Nusus (Ayatisasi) (Ayatization) - refers to the basic teachings of Islam, namely the Qur'an, Hadith, and authentic books of Turath.

Mustawa (M2) - Al-Muqaranah (Perbandingan) (Comparative) - refers to the differences and similarities between the approaches of Islamic knowledge and conventional science.

Mustawa (M3) - Al-Taqyim (Adaptasi) (Adaptation) - refers the process of selecting, filtering, adapting and adopting principles, values and framework that do not conflict with Islam.

Mustawa (M4)- Al-Tafaqquh) (Internalizing) - refers to integrate and apply the various disciplines that produce a holistic curriculum. 

This course will use: Classroom lecture and group discussions, library and online resources, student’s consultations, continuous oral and written quizzes, oral and written Assignments. Individual and group presentations.

The assessment will include:

1)            Structured and open ended class room and home works

2)            Individual , pair and group written and oral Assignments & quizzes

3)            Individual , pair and group presentations

Kursus ini mendedahkan kepada pelajar tentang teori, teknik dan aplikasi terjemahan. Penekanan kursus tertumpu kepada aspek konsep, kaedah, syarat, jenis dan sebagainya. Selain daripada itu, aktiviti menganalisa pelbagai gaya bahasa dan genre bagi sesuatu teks dan menterjemah teks pelbagai bidang turut diberi perhatian. Kursus ini dijalankan melalui sesi perbincangan, pembentangan, kerja berkumpulan dan individu. Para pelajar dinilai melalui Tugasan dan Kuiz mingguaun, Pembentangan Bulanan, ujian pertengahan semester dan ujian akhir semester. Di akhir kursus ini diharap para pelajar dapat memahami dan mengaplikasi teori dan teknik terjemahan.
